Accurate measurements
are made possible from a finished radiograph when the Macklin
Radiographic Ruler is placed under patient anatomy prior to
radiographic exposure. Can be used with fluoroscopy to accurately
place invasive devices. Suggested range is 40 to 100 kVp. Supplied
non-sterile.
 Possible
applications include:
- Placing vena cava filters.
- Measuring the location of
incompetent perforating veins from a fixed external point.
- Assessing in-situ grafts post-op
to ensure that all perforating veins have been ligated.
- Measuring the length of bones.
- Locating a stenosis relative to
bifurcations or bony landmarks.
- Locating external sphincter prior
to prostatic balloon dilation.
